Aerodynamic Admittance Function of Tall Buildings

چکیده
The aerodynamic admittance function (AAF) has been widely invoked to relate wind pressures on building surfaces to the oncoming wind velocity. In current practice, strip and quasi-steady theories are generally employed in formulating wind effects in the along-wind direction. These theories permit the representation of the wind pressures on building surfaces in terms of the oncoming wind velocity field. Synthesis of the wind velocity field leads to a generalized wind load that employs the AAF. This paper reviews the development of the current AAF in use. It is followed by a new definition of the AAF, which is based on the base bending moment. It is shown that the new AAF is numerically equivalent to the currently used AAF for buildings with linear mode shape and it can be derived experimentally via high frequency base balance. New AAFs for square and rectangular building models were obtained and compared with theoretically derived expressions. Some discrepancies between experimentally and theoretically derived AAFs in the high frequency range were noted.

Analysis of Alongwind Tall Building Response to Transient Nonstationary Winds
Transient nonstationary extreme winds such as thunderstorm downbursts are responsible for significant structural damage and failures. This study deals with the frequency domain analysis of alongwind tall building response to transient nonstationary winds based on nonstationary random vibration theory. The transient wind fluctuations and associated wind loads are modeled as the sum of determinis...

Abstract: Aerodynamic admittance is a key parameter affecting the analysis accuracy of the bridge buffeting response. However, few articles have covered the issue of the wide-body flat box girder with much smaller depth-width ratio (such as 1/12 studied in this paper). Therefore, to explore the real buffeting force of the wide-body flat box girder, experiments of the static force coefficients a...
متن کاملTorsion Analysis of High-Rise Buildings using Quadrilateral Panel Elements with Drilling D.O.F.s
Generally, the finite element method is a powerful procedure for analysis of tall buildings. Yet, it should be noted that there are some problems in the application of many finite elements to the analysis of tall building structures. The presence of artificial flexure and parasitic shear effects in many lower order plane stress and membrane elements, cause the numerical procedure to converge in...
